A trip down memory lane...

Hey bloggers,

I recently found these photographs on my laptop from our university enterprise unit level 2, definately a trip down memory lane and made me realise all the things that I have archived so far.

In a group of six- me and 5 other talented designers, we branded our company as Parisian Pearl. 'At Parisian Pearl we produce beautiful handcrafted home furnishing products. This includes bolsters, large floor cushions and small cushions suitable for any home. Taking inspiration from the pearl, we have decided on a sophisticated colour palette and a range of interesting designs suited for any home. As our product is hand crafted, embellished and finished to a high standard it will be suitable for customer looking for luxury home products to match a sophisticated, modern home.'

I just thought I would share with you some photographs from the shoot, by our lovely photographer Francesca Fisher on our Parisian Pearl Website

Enjoy!

Crazy or Amazing?

Wow, came across these and definately left me speechless. I have seen some amazing stiletto designs before (RIP Alexander McQueen) but these INSA 'Elephant Dung Heels' are  by far the craziest of them all.

The INSA Elephant Dung Heels were created in response to artist Chris Ofili's famous artwork- 'The Holy Virgin Mary' painting that used elephant dung as material. What a way to pay tribute to controversial artwork. Be sure to check out detailed shot of this one of a kind shoe.... One question, just how do you walk in them?

Would love to know your thoughts!

Tribal Summer

As you may already know, the theme for my final major project is Tribal Art and snake skin, which I have been spending the past crazy weeks researching and developing from, which is why these images really caught my eye because of the vibrant colours, something I am definitely loving right now.

Work Placement in London

Work Placement in Westminster London in January 2010 for 2 weeks.

I have recently started doing one of many work placements in London at an up and coming designer's studio working alongside her doing accessories embellishment and embroidery work with a bunch of other interns, I am loving it! We are currently working on her Autumn/ Winter 2010 accessories collection and it is amazing to be able to see how a collection is put together and all the hard work that goes into it. I will be updating more about it later but here is a couple of snapshots of her work.

My Blog House!

This is the place where I will be putting my love for words to good use.

I intend on blogging about my passion- My love for fashion and textiles and what is going on with and around me, simply put. For me, this is just another means to expressing yourself.

I, Mevis Liew, am a brown eyed, right handed, passionate, ambitious, fearless, relentless working, goal seeking, hopeful, emotionally driven, true to herself, fun loving, highly idealistic, intuitive observer, challenger, night owl, listener and life lover.

I am innately curious about life, especially with seeking truth.

I love good manners, rainy nights and romantic nights in with him.
